Here's a quick review/unboxing of the Samsung 32" The Frame QLED Smart TV (2020)

Here's the rundown

• Cost: $764.00 AUD (including GST)
• Delivery took about a month (but I can accept that, it's tough times with supply shortages)
• Warranty 1 year (seems a bit short)

Unfortunately I had to go with a black frame, despite on their site stating they support customisable frames, black was the only available option with this order.

There's also a lot of Samsung marketing around "Art mode" it's only when it arrives that you discover this is available to you for a $5.99 subscription, bit cheeky, that said the device does seem to display a piece of artwork that never changes when in standby mode and that is without a subscription, so not quite sure what the go is here, scroll below to see it.

The TV comes with wall mounts that ensure it sits flush with the wall, you'll need a drill to install these along with a 3mm long (65mm) drill bit, otherwise the TV has stands so you can set it up on a horizontal surface.

It comes with a "OneConnect" box that you'll need to hide away somewhere close to the TV, this is what you attach all your wires to which then attaches to the display via a single wire.

It sits nicely on the wall but here's the kicker, orientating it vertically sucks (most people don't do that though). I planned to orientate this monitor vertically to test out our digital signage. Unfortunately the device is too clever for its own good, as soon as you rotate the display vertically it auto rotates the picture to be horizontal on a vertically hung display and from what I can tell there's absolutely no way to turn this feature off, so forget about hooking up anything like a Raspberry Pi to it vertically.

I'm now working on porting our tech to the Samsung TV store to see if there's a way to work around the auto vertical issue. I could likely plug a FireTV stick into it but the Samsung/Tizen store is something we should be supporting. Will report back.
