How to Set Up Custom Domains

For a fully professional white-label experience, you can run the Luna Screens dashboard on your own domain (e.g., screens.yourcompany.com). The platform handles SSL certificate creation and global distribution for you.

Step 1: Start the Setup

  1. Navigate to the Account section in the dashboard.
  2. Click on the Custom Domain tab.
  3. Click on Create Certificate to begin the provisioning process.

Step 2: Validate Your Domain

Once the certificate provisioning starts, you will be provided with DNS validation records (CNAME records).

  1. Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare).
  2. Navigate to your DNS Management settings.
  3. Add the provided CNAME records to your DNS configuration exactly as displayed in the Luna Screens dashboard.
  4. Wait for the DNS changes to propagate. The dashboard will show "Certificate Validated" once the system verifies your ownership.

Step 3: Enable the Distribution

After your certificate is validated, the system will link it to a global distribution network.

  1. Click Create Distribution. This step takes a few minutes as the platform deploys the routing infrastructure.
  2. Once deployed, you will be given a final distribution target URL.
  3. Add a new CNAME record to your DNS settings pointing your custom sub-domain (e.g., screens) to the distribution target URL.
  4. Click Enable Distribution.

Congratulations! You and your clients can now securely access the dashboard via your own fully-branded domain.

How to Configure a Custom Email Domain

In addition to hosting the platform on your own domain, you can configure a custom email address (e.g., hello@yourcompany.com) to be used as the sender for all system emails like user invites and login codes.

Step 1: Start Email Configuration

  1. On the same Custom Domain tab, scroll down to the Custom Email Domain Configuration section.
  2. Enter your desired email address (e.g., hello@yourcompany.com).
  3. Click Start Setup.

Step 2: Add DNS Validation Records

To authorise Luna Screens to send emails on your behalf, you must add a few verification records to your domain's DNS settings. (Tip: You can use the Export CSV button to easily download these records.)

  1. Domain Ownership (TXT): A record to prove you own the domain.
  2. SPF Configuration (TXT): A record that authorises Amazon SES to send emails for your domain. Important: If you already have an SPF record (like for Google Workspace or Office 365), do NOT create a new one. Simply edit your existing record to append include:amazonses.com right before the ~all or -all.
  3. DKIM Signatures (CNAME): Three records that help email providers verify the emails are authentic and not forged.

Step 3: Verification

DNS propagation may take up to 24 hours (though it usually happens much faster). Once the DNS changes are propagated and detected, the status will update to Running and your custom email domain will be active!
